Tragedy of Yeardley Love

Have y'all been watchin' the news lately? The story of Yeardley Love's death has really struck a chord with me this week. I actually came to tears when I heard about it. That could have been a large number of girls I know. I personally have been in an abusive, volatile relationship that I feared ending. It seems like our generation is drinking more and more these days. It's not a casual drink with dinner, it's a night of abusive drinking. I enjoy going out and having a good time but lately I have been making an effort to cut down on my alcohol intake. I know people who black out on a weekly basis and they go out with the intent of doing so. This young man seems to have a temper that is set off by alcohol, so why didn't someone get him the help he deserved? It would have saved lives. Something needs to be done as a whole to change this issue we have as a country with our young adults. I don't mean to offend anyone and did not go in depth with the issues at hand today but I'd like to know, what do you all think? Any ideas to control this problem? Have you ever had a point in your life where you drank too much?

  1. Lauren: I TOTALLY agree. Our country has a problem with alcohol. It saddens me to see on fb & other networking sites that Young Adults are "going out" with the intent of becoming completely WASTED. It is SO SAD.

  2. My mom even said the other day, "you girls all look the same, dressed to kill with a drink in your hand" I'm guilty of it too but at some point when is enough enough? How come people can't live in moderation?
